The Collection

Hello and welcome to the page talking about the collection! We call ourselves the Cicada Shell Collection, as Cicada (the one who mostly works on the site) is our host & has been our host for most of the body's life. And also because we (mostly) all like bugs.

Our group consists (currently) of 5 headmates: Cicada, Jack, (Not) Nikola, Doc, & Mime. More info about all of us can be found in the boxes below this one.

Plurality has been something... contentious for us, to say the least. In the summer of 2025, when I [Cicada] first started having the Realization about being plural and the others [just Jack & Nik at that point] started becoming more aware of themselves, we freaked out a bit. Cue a several-month-long breakdown fueled by denial and guilt and fear. We're doing better now, having done research and getting more accustomed to being plural, but it definitely wasn't a great start.

Plurality to us feels a little like the world's worst TV-college roommate situation. We're all trapped in a small "dorm" (one body) with people we don't know very well and an inability to imagine a "headspace", and we can't exactly leave the body if we want a little distance from everyone. Still, we manage, and it isn't all bad. We're friends, or at least friendly, and that helps the lonliness aspect of our lives a lot.
