One of my favorite things to do on Neocities is to find a site and "go down the rabbit hole" with their links. I love exploring the web and seeing how sites connect to each other, and on my journeys I find a bunch of cool sites!! I love sharing things like this, so I wanted to make a biggggg list of all the cool sites I find!! Check below to see 'em :-3
Note: I try and only pick sites that have been active, with my definition of active being "updated the site within the year". I'm planning on doing a "clear out" every December to get rid of sites that don't meet this, but as of right now (Jan. 2025), all of these sites have updated within 2024 as far as I can tell ^w^

w3schools -> quite literally everything I know about website making is from w3schools. their tutorials about html, css, and javascript are top notch, a great place to start if you're a total beginner like me. also, they have good references, such as for html colors and tags :-3
File Garden -> what I use to host 99% of the images on this site!! completely free to use, with easy options to both embed and link to images ^w^
WebAIM -> Web accessibility resources!!
Sadgrl Webmastery -> Bunch of resources for webmasters (people who make websites). Their layouts are great if you don't want to work from scratch, and I got my brick bg from the "Tiled Backgrounds" section!!
Melonland -> A big webproject with many resources!! This is what finally convinced me to make my own site in the first place :D
32Bit Cafe -> another big webproject/community!! I'm in their discord server, its full of very nice people and a great place to get help when you need it :-3

Shake Art Deluxe -> an in-browser art program with shaky brushes! (NOTE: shakes really fast)
Wigglypaint -> another in-broswer art program with wiggly brushes! Not as fast or bad as Shake Art
Photopea -> photoshop, but free and runs in your browser
Hydrant Directory -> a site where you can get color palettes from fire hydrants!
AdorkaStock -> A great source of free to use drawing references!!
Comparing Heights -> a f2u website to compare heights of up to 6 figures!
Figurosity -> a collection of 3D models you can view, rotate, and pose for drawing refs!!
Animal Skull References -> like Figurosity, but with 3D models of various animal skulls!! Also has a neat feature where you can search for animal images at approximately the pose of your skull.
Dimensions -> a collection of art outlines showing measurements of various objects, buildings, animals, and more!
Radiooooo -> a website where you can listen to various music from different countries over the world over different decades!!
sinkdog archives -> a collection of images and history relating to a "weird" furry character called sinkdog. I love sinkdog this site is on here purely just for me.
crouton.net -> website with one (1) image of a crouton on it
vulgarlang -> generate conlangs (constructed languages; aka fantasy languages)!! Get 200 words for free without needing an account or to pay.
5etools -> has pretty much everything needed for Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition for both players and DMs, for free! My first DM showed my party it, and its been very helpful if you don't want to have to pay 5 billion dollars for different books
Worldbuilding Checklist -> a very extensive checklist for making fictional societies!!
Wormatlas -> A website dedicated to Caenorhabditis elegans and other nematoads. I love biology and biologists
You Feel Like Shit -> a questionnaire for when you feel like shit but don't know why, with suggestions. has been a lifesaver for me
cobalt -> website that lets you download videos, images, or audios from basically anywhere on the internet
Simthsonian Open Access -> a bunch of free to use images. good for both drawing references and also just browsing when you're bored
